Again the Belgian contribution was naval. In Operation Southern Breeze Belgium deployed the minehunters Iris and Myosotis, with Dianthus, and again the support ship Zinnia; they were carried to the Gulf in August 1990 aboard the Dutch heavy-lift ship Super Servant 3. After the liberation of Kuwait, Belgium led a combined Belgian-French-Dutch group of twelve minehunters and support ships in the post-war mine clearance. No Belgian merchant vessel was lost in this conflict. The Myosotis also took part in Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
No Belgian merchant or fishing vessels from this conflict are known by name.
